Weekly Sebastian Post: New Trick - Touch Jack
Anyone familiar with my pooch Sebastian can attest to the fact that he is a pretty bright little dude. He has an ever growing arsenal of tricks (anything from holding treats on his nose to pretending to be a bear skin rug) that he uses to convince humans that he should be given treats and head scratches. One of his latest tricks is to touch his buddy Jack. I decided to take a picture of him doing it (I swear he isn’t punching him!).

University College Magazine
Over the past couple years I have been shooting the covers for the University College Magazine. University College is one of the founding colleges of the University of Toronto and has the pleasure of occupying (in my humble opinion) one of the nicest buildings in all of Toronto. Hopefully I did it justice in this photo! If you’d like to see the real magazine cover, check it out here. I also shot a portrait of Bill Davis, former premier of Ontario, for the inside of the magazine.

The September version of my newsletter is now out. Check out the real version here. If you’d like to sign up for it you can do so here.
They say time flies when you’re having fun and judging by how fast the summer has been whizzing by, I think I’m on track for a summer of record-breaking good times. Things started off back in June with my first ever Woofstock, which turned out to be a total blast. I met thousands of adorable dogs and my booth was very well received by their owners. On the work front I’ve been busy with several projects. I had the great pleasure of working with the University of Toronto on its student services guide (blog photos I and blog photos II) as well as on the cover of the upcoming University College alumni magazine. Work also took me up north to the edge of the earth (okay only as far as Kirkland Lake, ON) to shoot a wedding. Krista and Brandon celebrated their marriage at a gorgeous ceremony set on the shores of Kenogami Lake. Apart from work, I have escaped the heat of the city on several canoe trips in Algonquin Park (blog photos I and blog photos II), The Massassauga Park (blog photos I and blog photos II), and in Temagami.
I know you were probably all getting nervous that I was never going to get around to pet portraits – the reason most of you signed up for this newsletter in the first place. Don’t fear, Keeper and Mickey, Klaus, Ben, and Zoe are here to keep you entertained!
I will be taking part in this year’s Queen West Art Crawl. On September 18th and 19th Toronto’s up-and-coming artists come together in Trinity Bellwoods Park for a weekend of art in the park. I will be displaying my latest collection of art pieces (a modern reinterpretation of classic botanical drawings in mixed medium format) along with my latest canine and feline portraits. Don’t forget to bring your pooch along too as Trinity Bellwoods has one of Toronto’s nicest off-leash dog parks.
Sign up for a portrait session along with a friend and get two sessions for the price of one (a savings of $150). Valid until October 31, 2010, not valid with any other promotion.
