November Newsletter

Check out the November Newsletter that just went out to Jason KB Photo fans.  You can see the real version here.

Did you know that if you replace every word of ‘Jingle Bells’ with a “woof” it still sounds just as good? I did! Jason and Angus are very busy working in the studio as the busy holiday season approaches, and so they asked yours truly, Sebastian – the trusty studio sidekick, to help them write this newsletter!

Holiday Gifts

Jason and Angus were so busy this past fall that Jack and I often had to amuse ourselves around the studio. As it turns out, dogs aren’t good at chess and cats don’t like to play fetch. Who knew? Jason and Angus would like to thank all of their clients for a busy and productive fall season, although as far as I’m concerned, someone *cough*JasonandAngus*cough* owes me a very nice holiday gift for all the head scratches, pets, and massages that I have missed out on.

Speaking of holiday gifts, Jason and Angus are already in full swing with portrait bookings for the holiday season. A Jason KB Photo photography package makes the perfect gift for that special someone. We are happy to offer a variety of gift-giving options for the animal lover in your life this holiday season.

Artworks under the tree!

What could be better than a personalized artwork of the family pet under the tree on Christmas morning? To give finished artworks for Christmas, you’ll need to act fast. There are only a few open dates remaining to get artworks by Christmas. It takes time for us to capture exceptional portraits of our animal subjects (the Jason KB Photo process includes an in-home consultation, a studio portrait session, and an in-studio ordering session) so orders for Christmas must be started well in advance. Don’t worry though, if you can’t book a portrait session soon we can arrange to have preview images ready to share for Christmas.

A surprise visit to the studio!

Why not have the animal lover in your life choose their own custom artworks? A portrait session can be arranged before the holidays and then you can surprise that special someone with a visit to the studio during which they will have the opportunity to decide exactly how their artworks will look. Many clients have done this in the past and it has always been a big hit!

Gift Certificates!

Finally, a tried and true holiday standard: Gift Certificates! A gift certificate is an easy and convenient way to give the unique gift of animal photography to someone you love.

As always I, Sebastian, your faithful studio correspondent, look forward to seeing all of you at the Jason KB Photo studio very soon!

Metal Float

Jason KB Photo is happy to introduce a new addition to our product line. The metal float is newly available and is exceptionally durable, even in comparison to our other heirloom quality mounting options. Your image will be printed directly onto high-quality aluminum which floats ¾ inches off the wall for a sleek and modern look. Sizes range from 16” x 20” to 30” x 40”.

Studio Version 2.0

After many long discussions, brainstorming sessions, and written feedback from Sebastian, Jack, Walter and Hazel (our resident studio animals), Jason KB Photo is happy to open the doors of our brand new animal-friendly studio! The studio features boom mounted lighting, which keeps lights off the floor and safely away from animals, a variety of animal friendly backdrops, and the latest in studio lighting technology which allows us to freeze your animals in action. As an added bonus, the new studio is much larger than before and at Sebastian’s insistence, a huge variety of treats and toys are always on hand.

2012 Pricing is going, going…..almost gone!

With the New Year just around the corner, Jason KB Photo is just about to implement our 2013 pricing. It’s your last chance to take advantage of our 2012 pricing, so book your session soon!

Jason KB and the City - Paws in the Park

The Jason KB Photo team certainly has been keeping busy!

With the holidays fast approaching, we have been welcoming many new clients to our studio for one great photo session after another, but a few weekends ago we took time out of our busy schedule for a cause that’s near and dear to us.

Jason KB Photo was a proud participant in Paws in the Park, a walk to benefit the animals cared for by the Toronto Humane Society. The walk was a great success with the participants raising just over $80,000! That’s certainly something to set tails wagging.

Participants received giveaway bags filled with goodies from pet product and service providers, and of course, a little something from Jason KB Photo! If you participated in Paws in the Park you are eligible to receive a $50 credit towards your next artwork purchase with us. If you decide to book a session with us after hearing about Jason KB Photo at Paws in the Park, we’ll donate an additional $50 to the Toronto Humane Society. Everybody wins!

Rebel

This is Ground Control to Major Sebastian; studio correspondent clear for take-off.

You know what I think is one of the most satisfying things in life? Meeting someone, or in my case, somedog, who shares their name with a famous song. Isn’t it fantastic that every time you meet a Roxanne, Maggie Mae, Barbara Ann, Layla, or Eleanor Rigby, you immediately have a conversation starter? I just love to serenade people and dogs with their namesake song, and I’m convinced they all find it equally as charming.

The opportunity to croon someone’s own name at them arose for ole Sebastian yet again when Rebel, a Lhasa Apso-Pekingese-Poodle cross, stopped by the Studio. As soon as Rebel stepped through the door I started in with “Rebel, rebel, you’ve torn your dress,” but Rebel looked none too impressed. I continued on with “Rebel, rebel, your face is a mess?”, a little less sure of myself, but Rebel just looked confused and then checked his face in the mirror.

It turns out Rebel is not a Bowie fan.

Which is unfortunate, because I had some Ziggy Stardust make-up and a one-piece leotard all ready to go for the photo shoot, but Jason, and Rebel, were having none of it. Ah well. C’est la vie.

Rebel’s photo shoot was fantastic, nonetheless. Have a look and see for yourself below!

As always, more photos from all of the Jason KB photo sessions are available on the Jason KB Photo facebook page.
