Queen West Art Crawl

I hope everyone has been enjoying the change in seasons as much as I have.  The cold weather this fall hasn’t been able to slow me down at all.  Back in September I displayed a collection of my mixed media artworks, Modern Taxonomy (blog post), at the Queen West Art Crawl.  The event was a giant success.  Not only did I receive phenomenal feedback from the hundreds of people who stopped by my booth, but I also sold a few dozen prints and several of my full sized pieces.  As a result of the exposure I received, I was invited to participate in this year’s Bloor Street Entertains refereed art auction.  Bloor Street Entertains is a gala charity event put on by the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research (CANFAR) and is one of the biggest charity events in all of Canada.  My works will be up for auction along with those of 17 other emerging artists at the Royal Ontario Museum on November 24th.

Pets

The success of the Queen West Art Crawl was obviously one of the highlights of the past couple of months, but certainly not the only one.  There are few things I like more than getting to meet and photograph adorable animals.  Equally satisfying are the smiles on their family’s faces when I show them the images that I have created for them.  Here are a few of my recent clients: Ben, Homer, Burton, Lizzy, Cleo, Coco, and Paco, along with my best friend Sebastian.

Upcoming Events

Over the next two weekends (November 6, 7, 13, & 14) I am holding Holiday Mini Sessions in my studio.  These sessions are 30 minutes long and are primarily intended for people wanting to get custom greeting cards made for the holidays.  There are a few spots still available so get in touch soon if you are interested.  Complete details on the sessions can be found on my blog (blog post).

If you missed this past summer’s Woofstock you can finally stop moping: Winter Woofstock is here!  Woofstock, the largest festival for dogs and their owners in all of North America, has decided that once a year just isn’t enough.  I totally agree with them and have decided to participate in this year’s inaugural event, which takes place on November 27-28 at the Direct Energy Centre.  I will be displaying a gallery of my latest pet portraits and products.  This will also be the perfect chance to find gifts for that hard to shop for pet lover, with a huge array of pet vendors selling their products.
