Spring Update

I get asked all the time when the next issue of my newsletter is coming out, which leads me to believe that some of you aren’t getting enough Jason KB Photo updates.  If you are craving more adorable photographs of animals or want to keep track of what I’m up to then be sure to check out my blog or become a fan on facebook.  The blog and facebook pages are updated regularly with photos from recent shoots as well as upcoming events.

As always seems to be the case, spring flew by once again this year.  In addition to creating artworks for my clients, I took part in the charity event Fashion Faux Paws (blog post) and had a booth at the amazingly well attended spring edition of Woofstock (blog post).  I have also been busy partnering with local pet service providers to display my work around the city.

Exotic Animals

Anyone who has browsed through my portfolio would correctly guess that I primarily photograph dogs and cats.  Although I love to work with my canine and feline clients, the reason I primarily photograph them is purely demographic in nature – people have more dogs and cats than any other animals.  Having said this, I have had the opportunity this past year to photograph a family of birds (check out their session album here), a snake, and just recently a pair of ponies.  The challenge involved in working with all sorts of different animals is one reason my job is so much fun.

Information Guide

This spring I put together the new Jason KB Photo Information Guide.  The guide outlines how my service works and describes all of the products that I offer.  You can check out the guide here, or feel free to contact me to get your own printed version.

Pony Preview

Yesterday evening I had my first equine photo shoot.  Angus and I traveled north of Toronto to photograph Sugarfoot and Bobby, two ponies recently rescued by Michelle and Ron - owners of Mountain Oak Farrier Services.  Here are some behind the scenes photos and a couple of sneak peaks at how the portraits turned out.  Expect more portraits of these beautiful beasts in the coming weeks.

Angus inspects our mobile studio setup - in the barn of course!

It’s pony picture day in the barn

Bobby inspects the grass -  not as tasty as the real stuff.           “Are those apples in Angus’ hand?  Yumm!”

Sugarfoot and bobby hang out between shots.                           Sugarfoot!  Who are you sticking your tongue out at?!?

Bobby looking handsome.  Good work buddy!

Sugarfoot looking suave.  “Can I get some more apples?  I’ll settle for a carrot….”

Woofstock Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out to Woofstock this past weekend and checked out my booth.  All of your positive comments on my art are a great confidence boost.  Thanks also to mother nature for answering my requests for great weather - what a relief!
